Metposts

Does anybody know of a cheaper version of Metposts? I need 4 x 75mm to erect a wood garden arch.

No - won't work. The arch has previously been erected with concrete, the ends have rotted which means there's not enough spare height to sink into the ground the required depth.

So a metpost-type solution is all I can come up with.

    Ah, fair enough :-)

If you're looking to save money, can you dig out the old concrete and replace it with fresh ? This would also give you a more solid fixing. Or are the posts sunk into a large area of concrete, in which case this would probably be impractical.

The bottom of the posts to a depth of about 12" had to be sawn off as they were rotten. I am planning to erect in a different place.
