Today at 12:09 I got a phone call from this number, I'm sure its rang before, and I'm sure nothing usually happens once you answer. But for the sake of curiosity, I picked up...

Me: "Hello?"
X1: Bleep.... Bleep.... Bleep... Silence.

Seen as I was in bed, I was to lazy to hang up so the phone was stuck to my ear when...

X1: "Alo?"
Me: "Hello?" "Who's this?"
X1: "Bleep.... Alo?"

And out of no where a second man joins the conversation, how this is possible at this point, was beyond me...

X2: "Hello sir, whom may I be speaking to?" (real posh cool sounding American accent...)
X1: "Alo!!?"
Me: !!!!!!?!

and then...

X3: Hi, your through to (some place) this is Jean speaking, how can I help?
Me: "!!!!!!?"
X1: "Alo?!"
X2: "Sir, you called me, may I know your name?"
Me: "No, you called me!"
X3: "Who is this?"
Me: "!!!!!!?!"

And then an automated message said "You have been kicked from this conference..."

Me: "!!!!!!?!"

If it was a conference call, surely only one person would have to call the wrong number - the other two would be added to the existing connection, so it's not that unlikely.

No, one person dialing the wrong number, the other people being added to the conference. Easy mistake to make.

ETA - Didn't see RadoJo's post, but I'm glad it's not just me that sees it lol

Sounds like the conference calls I have at work. The bleeping is someone joining the call.
