New Tab Opening With Each Click

I am using Firefox and each time I click on a new thread etc a new tab opens up on the browser. Any idea how to stop this?

Thanks.

Its probably in your filexfox settings - look at
    'Tools', 'Options', 'Tabs'

One of those settings is probably not how you want it to be.
Maybe "Open new windows in a new tab instead" is ticked and shouldn't be?

Thanks. That box was ticked, now changed it but it's still doing this.

Edit: it does seem to be this forum only that this is happening. It is now opening a new window as opposed to a new tab. Very strange!!

Firefox 4 - I tried unticking the option to open new window etc.
Then Firefox opens a new window altogether, not just a tab.

It is so annoying now - not seen this happening on other sites.
Almost every click opens a new tab and all I want is a single tab - not multiple windows.

Ok this is getting really annoying - hope MSE are going to check their site.

Trying to respond to comment on a single thread can lead to about 3 new tabs being opened, including one when the Submit button is clicked, leaving previous tab with window showing the comment still to be posted.

And still no solution or response.
A new bit of information for MSE.
If logged in - clicking on links automatically opens new tabs. If not logged in, then no problem.

Have been having the same problem. Changing the 'new look' skin seems to have done the trick, but I want to use the old skin!!!
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!
