My next door neighbour who works there told me on Friday. Apparently people have been doing three or four shops a day and leaving with armfuls of groceries. Tesco thought the £20.00 cap would fix the problem, but apparently not, so now they have been told to start checking the CCTV and also tie up the CCTV footage with the time printed on the receipts and vouchers you use!
Thinking about this though, the DTD Sales Promotion was designed to get MORE people in through Tesco's doors MORE often & for them to spend MORE, safe in the knowledge they were getting the best deal! Actually, that's exactly what it has achieved!

I really think they must have anticipated some imaginative usage & built that into the calculations. If not, they would almost certainly have pulled it by now.

Our store (like most, I think) works with a skeleton staff (not many, as opposed to very thin people) - to keep overheads to a minimum. They struggle to man the tills, fill the shelves & staff CS, let alone throwing someone glued to CCTV into the equation! They can't even catch Shoplifters!
I think it's just scaremongering - doubt if any of the stores will really do this!

We're coming up to Easter now - one of the busiest periods in the Supermarket Retailing calender. There's no way they'll be able to cope with monitoring CCTV then. I think they'll pull it before then, if they are that concerned about exploitation. Or, if they are very happy with the PR buzz & increased sales it has created (which I think they probably are!) - keep it going.
Hope it's the latter - developing a liking for Lamb dishes & fine wine!

Hmmm, I hope my shop from yesterday still comes back ok, seeing as Magners has now been price-matched to £1.26 and Dairy Milk 400g price-matched to £2.00. They *should* still match it from yesterdays prices though I hope.

Went first thing this morning and used 4 vouchers.
used 2 went to the car then went back and did another 2
Bought a whole leg of lamb, roasting in the oven as we speak, managed to get the goosefat potatoes, beef joint, surf, ambre solaire, thorntons egg and dishwasher tabs.
staff was lovely, first SA didnt know what to do called over till supervisor who just told her to sign receipt and scan voucher. second SA just signed and scanned no bother.
What a difference from the other store I went to last week who refused my 2nd voucher as It wasnt in the spirit of the scheme,
Ive now entered my receipts and fingers crossed Ill get more vouchers for tomorrow, I hope the leg of lamb dtd works lol ;)

Well I don't think Mr T's are in the "spirit of the scheme" by grossly over-charging on so many of their items!!

If you have 4 lamb racks = 16 legs required!

Not if they are going for a Damien Hirst style ;)
