    Hi folks

Just a couple of quickies which may/may not help..

1 - The 1.25l Coke & diet coke where you have to buy 2 @ £1.50 from tesco for dtd. I can confirm from my voucher/receipt for today, you can buy 1 of each as opposed to 2 the same. Not sure if this is confirmed elsewhere but if not - there you go. Everything else on my receipt has already been confirmed - the usual lamb/coffee/easter eggs etc

2- With ref to the beef question, there is a 1/2 page ad in todays Daily Star from Asda re their latest rollback - It has the following

    - 15 day matured beef joint - £8.48/kg down to £4 ( with a nice pic of some tasty beef)

    - Whole British Duck 1.6kg - 2.4kg £8.40 now down to £6

    - Chicken fillets 4 pack, 613g, £7.14 down to £6.

I've just done a quick tesco search for equivalents but can't seem to find any so maybe someone with a bit more savvy can throw some light!

Thanks again to all the SS updaters - a fantastic resource & well maintained. Invaluable.

    Happy Friday!

ps - edit - tesco do a Gressingham Duck, 2.128kg, from East Anglia ( east anglia is in britain) for £9??

I haven't managed to find any chicken fillets/breasts that are comparible :( I am however on a mission as my other half has been converted and using the ss wrote us a shopping list for tomorrow! It also covers 2 main dinners (we have veg etc already) and he even went on to say we could go through the tills separatly to get the lamb and some new potatoes for a 3rd night... :T I knew I loved him for a reason. His first list is:

Fresh Salmon Fillets from the counter (400gish worth)
Youngs 4 cod steaks in parsely sauce
    Hellmans Light Mayonnaise
    Velvet classic tissues
    Lenor fabric conditioner 3l awakening
    Durex Extra Safe

    SPEND: £22.54 DTD: £19.93

(noticed how the cheeky so and so included condoms... :rotfl:I just had a baby I think he is being hopeful)
Mummy to beautiful 5yr old girl and a gorgeous 1yr old boy:D

Didn't get vouchers (2) yesterday so tried the receipt again (well many agains since yesterday) and it took the receipt as brand new this time...this a bad thing? The shop was on the 5th, Weds and definitely not over the limit, first ones for April with brand new emails. Thanks.

I think as long as you only use one voucher per receipt you're good. The "system" doesn't appear to know if it's a receipt that you've checked before - ridiculous of Tesco as this makes it stupidly easy for anyone wanting to abuse the system. I accidently input the same receipt so got a second voucher but just put one in the bin. HTH

I've only had vouchers over £10 and they have all had the same generic code. So maybe it's one for over £10 and one for under?

It seems that there is only space in the barcode for 3 digits detailing the amount, so if it's for £9.99 or less, the amount will be shown in the barcode (not the last digit, but the three before that if I remember correctly) and if it's £10 or over, the barcode will be generic, hth :D

Went to tesco today without my list and was thrown because the nescafe pouches was down to £3.50, and i worked my shop out on them being £4.50

    Ended up buying
    2 x large surf at £8.99
    1 Egg at £6.00

    difference is £10.98 x 2 = £21.96

will i only get a voucher for £20.00

Everyone is so excited about this DTD and how Mr.T must be losing out on this deal but if you think about it, the voucher you get back - half of it was your money anyway. They get your money upfront on your first shop (inflated prices) and if you don't redeem your voucher a.s.a.p. they make interest on it in their bank account. The voucher also commits you to spend again with Mr. T. Their part of the bargain to double the difference won't hurt them until you redeem the voucher which can take a day or two to come through. Reminds me of banks clearing cheques. A big company like them will get better rates in the money markets than us. So if you spot a bargain that suits you thats fine. I think everyone has done a marvelous job in keeping the ss updated, just use up the vouchers as soon as you can and don't let Mr. T. use you as a bank.

IDEA: If we all use email addresses as above, then we might bu**er their system up?

I just thought I would share my experience with SA's since starting this and I can honestly say that I have had no problems whatsoever. What happens has varied on occasion - a couple of times I have been given my receipt back signed, couple of times it's been kept, couple of times a supervisor is called cos SA doesn't know what to do, but I've had no aggro whatsoever. Yesterday I had £17.92 voucher at self checkout. Very kind SA didn't even check recipt vouchers' codes matched, but couldn't get it to take the amount. She called anohter SA who also didn't even glance at my receipt who then entered the total under "other coupons".

The only comments I've had are "It's ok I know exactly what to do with that" and "oh, yes it's one of those, no problem".

I was getting worried that I was taking the mick a bit - even though I haven't been over the £100, but after watching Watchdog last night, I feel slightly more in the right - all the supermarkets are thieving bar stewards!
