Hi - I'm new to this thread. Re the Finest Rack of Lamb that many have mentioned, I'm a bit confused as it doesn't seem to be comparable on MySupermarket. Which one is it exactly and do you have to buy a particular weight? TIA :)

Its Tesco Finest and you can compare the price by going to Tesco own website and then Asdas. Just search rack of lamb and it should come up. You can buy any weight but as they are very small you would probably want at least one for two people.

It boils down to jelousy. You are allowed to do a voucher every single day (as long as you dont exceed £100 a month) so no reason for them to be snooty whatsoever. Bottom line is they know you are getting a fantastic deal they are not allowed to take advantage of.

Actually they are, ts and cs state

"38. Tesco employees are entitled to use this service. All price comparisons will be made before your Privilege card discount has been applied (if used)."

So in actual fact they can do it on even better terms than members of the public - they just don't know it because they don't read up on their own promotions. Ooh, the irony!
    Hope is not a strategy.

They are so cute as well!! I wanted the Tiger one for myself. Shop I was in today had Disney Cars, Tigger and Winnie the pooh all the same price.

I will be buying one if these for my DS....From ADSA...I would have thought Tesco will not be honouring this deal.

I am happy to be corrected though ;)

new add on tv apparently says multis not included now. 50% needs to be compairable. something about abuse also?? metro/express no longer included.. (something like this anyway)

was posted earlier when it came on the tv..

Really? CXan't say i saw the advert, but looking at their T&C's it looks like all they have done is stop the 'buy 6 bottles and get 5% off'.

It also still only states that you have to have at least 1 comparable product.

Asda is offline. Probably changing prices. Hopefully in our favour....

    From this mornings Daily Mail:

Supermarket price war descends into farce as Asda RAISES costs and Tesco bulk-buys fail to deliver value

The supermarket price war involving Tesco and Asda has descended into farce with evidence that many bargain deals are a sham. A number of Asda's cheap 'rollback' items have actually gone up in price, according to its own website. While Tesco's promise to deliver better value food and other products if they are bought in bulk also does not hold true. A number of Asda's cheap 'rollback' items have actually gone up in price, according to its own website. The giants have been involved in a vicious tit-for-tat battle in recent months as they vie to be known as the cheapest of the 'big four' supermarkets. Asda upset Tesco when it launched a price pledge to be 10 per cent cheaper than its major competitors on a basket of groceries. Tesco then hit back with a promise to refund double the difference if Asda was found to be genuinely cheaper. However, this back-fired after shoppers found many examples. In some cases, shoppers were claiming payments in the shape of shopping vouchers from Tesco worth more than £100. Tesco's promise to deliver better value food and other products if they are bought in bulk also does not hold true. Research by the BBC's Watchdog programme reveals a large number of examples where price cutting claims do no live up to the hype. It found 30 cases in recent days where Asda 'rollback' prices had actually gone up, rather than down. These included multi-packs of Diet Coke at £3.75, which were up from £3; Kellogg’s Special K Oats & Honey at £2.99, which were up from £2.07. Programme researchers bought a multi-pack of Robinson’s Fruit Shoots at £2.89, which was up from £2.76; and Aquafresh Extra toothpaste, which was up from £2.90 to £2.98. Tesco was found selling its own-brand ‘Bigger Pack Better Value Ready to Serve Custard’ at 99p per kilo. However, smaller packs of the same product worked out cheaper at 87p per kilo. BBC's Watchdog programme found 30 cases in recent days where Asda's 'rollback' prices had actually gone up. This included multi-packs of Diet Coke (not the one pictured) at £3.75, which were up from £3. One shopper from Devon wrote to the supermarket pointing out that their 'Bigger Value Pack' of 10 Alpen bars worked out at 29p more than two smaller packs of five. The customers was shocked at the response of supermarket customer services staff in a voicemail on her mobile phone. The Tesco worker said: 'The general rule is bigger packs are less expensive. However, the retail industry is fiercely competitive currently and this means that the usual rules don't apply.'
Consumer group Which? has also identified a number of recent examples where Tesco's supposedly 'bigger pack, better value' offers do not hold true. It has reported the store and other retailers to trading standards amid suspicions the bogus advertising claims could be illegal. Solicitor Andy Millmore, an expert in advertising law, told the programme: 'At present in the UK we have consumer protection from unfair trading regulations, which are designed to stop the consumer being misled in some way into buying something or not buying something they wouldn’t otherwise have done. Watchdog found a multi-pack of Robinson's Fruit Shoots being sold in Asda for £2.89, which was up from £2.76. 'When you look at claims that look as though they’re objective – like ‘best value', 'better value’, ‘biggest box best value’ - then the consumer is entitled to know that those claims are actually true. 'And if you deconstruct them and find that, in fact it’s not the best value – then they’re misleading and arguably that’s a breach of the regulations.' Tesco said the failure to ensure bigger packs were genuinely better value was an error. A spokesman said: 'Our policy is absolutely to make sure that big packs offer better value and it is never our intention to feature promotions that do not offer real savings. 'With over 40,000 products and thousands of promotions, we do however occasionally make mistakes. When this happens, as it has here, we put it right and we are sorry.' Asked about the voicemail message, he added: 'It wasn't right to say the normal rules don't apply. Our colleague had in mind the fact that the market is very competitive at present, with lots of promotions and offers. 'We are committed to offering our customers transparent pricing and genuine promotions.' Asda blamed a computer problem for the fact the rollback prices had risen rather than fallen. A spokesman said: 'Customers trust us to always have the lowest prices week in week out, so when we get things wrong like this we're the first to put our hands up and take it on the chin.' She said the problem resulted from a 'a glitch in our online system' which had now been put right. 'The bug meant that the rollback flag stayed online for up to 24 hours after the price of certain products had moved back up - which clearly shouldn’t happen,' she said.

Watchdog airs on BBC One at 8pm tonight
