I was never happy with GreenFlag although it's been a few years since I was with them. The local garage they used were very unhelpful.
I have just been sent a renewal for my RAC membership so after reading this thread I checked online and the same cover is actually more expensive online.
£108 online
£93.25 renewal0 -
I have been with the RAC for 10 years. I renewed my membership in March but in June I was granted a Mobility vehicle which comes with breakdown cover included.
I tried to cancel my membership and get a 9 month refund they have refused.
Surely this is theft!0 -
Nobody rewards loyalty any more.
Well said Lum. These words should be the first thought of any moneysaver.
As regards breakdown cover specifically, I change every year taking advantage of any offers or cashback and save fortunes. The difference in quality between the main providers is negligible."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools"

Hows it theft when you paid them??
When you took the policy out you agreed to pay for 12 months service and i'm sure there paperwork would say something to indicate you are paying for the full 12 months and there are no refunds given for cancellations after the 14 day cooling off period.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
last time i joined any breakdown was year 2000, AA.
I guess im the best part of 1k up by not having it and no breakdowns for 11 yrs.
I'd have it if I commuted on a motorway or went abroad. But I don't and won't be.0 -
The trick isn't to ring them or to check online. Cheapest way to do it is use a cashback site. On the telephone they will still get nowhere near that low premium. Or you could use tesco CC points if you have some kicking around.
Always check cashback sites first - we're currently jumping between RAC & AA making full use of these and making huge savings. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

I have been a loyal RAC customer for 9 years
This is where the problem lies.
Loyalty means nothing. You're just a number.
My mum and dad have been with BT and ManWeb for over the 40 years they have lived in the same house.
They stay with them as they think they are being loyal...0
