Me and my girlfriend are going on holiday in June. We both have travel insurance.
I am in the miliatary and as such, until I am on the plane, who knows what can happen!
My question - if I have to cancel the holiday due to my leave being cancelled for operational reason (this is covered in my policy), does that mean that my girlfriend will be covered under her travel insurance as well?
Its not clear from the terms and conditions. But obviously, if I cant go, then she cant go so surely she would be covered?
Please help or clarify if anyone is in the know?

I am assuming that you both have separate policies and yours is with a specialist insurer to provide this level of cover? Unless her policy is the same as yours it is unlikely her policy will cover her - it will only cover cancellation for a specified reason e.g. the sudden illness of somebody who she would be travelling with.
However without seeing both yours and her wordings it is difficult to comment.0 -
Don't know about the insurance, gut feel says yes but I'd have thought it would be covered in the policy documents.
Just out of interest, where is the holiday? If it's somewhere nice and the army decide they want you somewhere hot & sandy (but in a tent or container rather than a hotel) I might be tempted to help you out
