Can anyone tell me whats the difference between voluntary redundacy and being made redundant.
Do the employer still have to give you the full redundancy package if you volantire or what.
As my boss as just asked if i would take voluntary redundancy.

Sorry to hear about your predicament, it's unfortunately common these days. Have you read the Terms of Service of your employment?

Voluntary redundancy is the same as being made redundant except you agree to it as opposed to being forced to end your employment. There is no real difference in the package except that if you take voluntary redundancy the company often gives better terms than if served statutory redundancy.
You have to weigh up how you feel about this and whether you will get another job. It's not easy at the moment depending upon your skills and location.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

the terms for VR can be different for CR....
alot of places will choose to pay the same but that doesn't mean thay have to is what we were led to believe with the NHS...
they would still however have to detail how much money they would give you (before you made the choice) and explain everything that you need to know about your pension....
