orange can't provide me with a landline for another 3 weeks

the cause of my frustration was two-fold. I informed them about the lack of socket almost two weeks before I was due to move so I felt that if something had been done about it then, at least I wouldn't have had to wait so long for one to be fitted.
Also being told last night, for the first time, that the price would be £125 quid which would put me in a no-win situation.
Anyway it's been resolved now. I've just spent one hour and 23 minutes on the phone to orange - 30 minutes of that in the company of a young lady at the Indian call centre who had no idea what was going on and who's response to anything she didn't know was to go completely silent - the upshot if it is that orange have agreed to waive the fee for the engineer who is now booked for the 21st of April.
I did identify the point at which the telephone cable entered the flat but has clearly been cut off right at the point of the drill hole so there's nothing to really work with inside.
Just glad it's sorted anyway0
