Just received a text message on my mobile from Vanquis:
Vanquis a/c xxxx current balance £301.25 Avail credit £198.00. If not already paid please pay at least £0.00 to reach us by 09/04. Info at 02/04 00:00

my daughter received a similar text....it's appeared on a new contract phone....she doesn't have a Vanquis account....go figure...No two ways about this one: Anything Free is not a Basic Right..it had to be earned...by someone, somewhere0

I get the same message because although I've set up a direct debit for the minimum amount, I always try to clear the balance via debit card. I must admit that I had a bit of a giggle the first time I saw it and thought "what a waste of a text message"...ahh well! Bank Accounts - HSBC Advance Current Account, Nationwide Flex Current Account, Lloyds TSB Basic Account
