That sort of notice usually means the staff are obnoxious and useless and therefore DO get abused !

Read your pct or lhb board meeting notes. Most of them have a log of the physical abuse directed at NHS workers everyday.

Alternatively explain to me under what circumstances it is acceptable to say to someone "I know where you live and I'll get you on the way home." that is one if the milder threats.

Explain how our "obnoxious and useless staff" have all at one time or another been left crying because they have been so upset or frightened, but after one incident were cheered when the local pub had a whip round to buy them flowers after an awful incident.

Rudeness is bad but occaisionally forgiveable in extremes, violence and aggresion against people who cannot answer back and have to remain professional is never. Full stop.

Oh dear - why do people have to grossly overreact to the most innocuous remark ?
