Euro Car Parks - PCN

Hi,
On 22/1/11 our vehicle was parked at Toys R Us car park. After a 40 min visit we came back to find that a ticket had been placed on the car stating that we were improperly parked - over the lines.
We tried to locate the issuer of the ticket as we were on the line - when spaces are tight and the car park busy what do you do??
We referred to the sign as thought it a joke - how can you be fined for improper parking - but the sign states you must park within the lines.
We were inially very angry then sought advice on line so acted on others advice and ignored....
Ticket issued: 22/1/11
Parking Charge Notice issued: 21/1/11
Today we have received a letter from control account plc advising that Euro Car Parks has recruited them to recover the money within 5 days. Letter dated 31st March so time nearly over. It states that they have firm instructions to start legal proceedings and apply for a CCJ.
I have read various links - am I correct in that a CCJ would only be given IF after receiving a court request letter to settle the outstanding debt and we failed to pay.
I have stuck fast so far but I am merely the registered keeper and WAS NOT the driver but am sickened that a £70 PCN (£50 if paid within 14 days) has not increased to £100.
Common sense says that it would cost more than £100 to start court proceedings but.......I am not the luckiest of people and cannot afford £100 let alone if it increased.
Am I halfway through the process....so just continue to ignore and file the letters?
On a side issue why do these big companies; Halfords, B&Q, Sainsburys, Toys R Us employ these people when we all spend a fortune in their stores. Encourages me to avoid them at all costs and shop on-line!
Many thanks.

Yup, continue to ignore

The ONLY letter you shouldn't ignore is an official letter from a court (N1), but the chances of getting one are very slim to none.
You could write to Toys R Us and tell them that you have no intention of using their store again while they are emplying these cowboys
"am I correct in that a CCJ would only be given IF after receiving a court request letter to settle the outstanding debt and we failed to pay."
Almost. Only if after getting a court letter AND losing the case AND then not paying within 28 days. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
I have also had a Euro Car Parks fake ticket and the letters from Control Account. That was over 2 years ago and nothing else happened - the letters were exactly as shown in our top thread.
Continue to ignore, you are nearly there.
But do write a letter of complaint to ToysRUs. The more complaints they get from customers the more likely they are to review their use of PPCs in the future.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

and if you're lucky you'll eventually receive another controlaccount letter stating that the 'owed' amount has been reduced (mine went from £120 to £90). clemency indeed.
when you write that you're 'sickened that a £70 PCN has not increased to £100' I assume this is a typo.
or you're the first guy on here who's disappointed with not being charged more!0 -
I think the OP meant "now"

Ignore.
Euro have never ever done court.
There has never been a claim of any kind for being over a line.0 -

Is there any reason at all why you think you should stop taking the advice that this entire board gives.
I ask because if there is we need to do something to counteract it.
IIRC nowhere on this site has anyone ever been advised that they MUST pay a PPC.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Hi, i too received a enforcement notice from euro car parks for the sum of £50 for parking on a supermarket
my wife is adament she displayed the ticket as she ALWAYS does
anyways we where going to pay then watched an episode of watchdog the other night which was most informative regarding the BPA guidelines and that photographic date and time stamped evidence is required
my question is this, should i simply ingore this letter as many many ppl are suggesting or should i write a letter of appeal asking them to provide photographic evidence and state that i will not be paying any "invoice" until said evedence is provided ?
thanks in advance
EDIT: my wife says that at no time ever has there been a ticket notification left on our car when shes used it, is this normal practice for euro car parks that they dont actually leave a parking ticket at the time?0 -
Just ignore them. If you contact them, they will just send more letters. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

So.....question is: should you follow the advice stated in thousands of posts on here or should you set off on your little own lonesome self and plough your own furrow??
Well I guess it depends on the sort of person you are.
Only you can decide if you want to follow well tried, tested and proven advice that takes no effort whatsover or if you want to waste your time and stamps to encourage them to send you more letters.
Sorry I can't be more definitive in my advice, but it's a personal choice for you.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0
