really bad Gmail security problem / issue

I sent an invite to a friend who set up an account now when I log into my account online and chack my sent items I see all the emails he has sent too which is really bad.

I should not be able to see other peoples email.

I sent a note to google but this is really bad, I have invited a lot of people and now worry if any of them can see my emails!

haven't had that issue myself and would have thought if this as widespread then it would have hit the headlines!

Did he log in to his account at any time from your PC and not log out? If so you will have a cookie from then that might mix things up. If my DS accesses his account from my pc I can sign in to his account by mistake when I go to access mine. So I have to log out and remove all cookies.

I know that when you send and have an invite accepted, both parties have each other's email address added to their Contacts list....but I can't see how that could do something like this. Does he know your password?

Emailing the Gmail team is a good idea.
