MSE don't ban sites because they're spammy, only if they break forum rules. As you can see you typed myoffers without being exclamation marked! The spam list maintained by velvetglove is our own initiative (well not mine, I wasn't here at the time but you know what I mean :) )

You can still enter all the Dennis comps which are posted here, it's just loveoffers will be missing

Duh, of course you're right :o. I am confused (what else is new?!).
  • re signitures.....bold, colour, punctuation etc all count as extra characters in the character count. the max numbe rof characters is the max allowed in plain black. if you have colour/bold/larger font or anything not plain black try removing and see if that helps.

re: the john lewis comp, if its a daily could we have it in one thread that is updated with the new link everyday please? that way i can link it in the daily thread but more importantly people can then find that one thread however they do each day instead of having to hunt through 200 odd threads for a new thread each day...just an idea, if there is some better logic or reason for posting it as new every day let me know what that reason is please :)
  • Alot more ladies seem to win these competitions more than us men.

Is it purely to do with the amount of ladies that enter these competitions in ratio to the men or is it purely ladies first when it comes to winning??

I dont mean to sound offensive so forgive me if it comes across that way, its just an observation.

Isn't it a weekly comp? The next one appears to be open on 10/10 for 24 hours.

Men shouldn't be comping anyways. You should leave the comping to us fairer sexes and head on out into the bush with your bow and arrow and bring some tucker back :p Seriously :rotfl:

There is an add on for firefox called Ref Control which masks where you come from, hth.

Thanks - doesn't look like there's anything for IE...might have to make the move to Firefox (been meaning to for a while!)

A brilliant mse'r on here told me to drag the link into a new tab and hey presto!! It works :j:j I use Firefox though so don't know if it works with all browsers.

Thanks for this, and that blocks the fact that it's from MSE does it?

Perhaps I'm being thick but why do we need to mask the fact that we've entered via MSE?

Not thick at all - I was just reading somewhere that as companies can see where you've come to their website from, made me think that they might not like competition websites like MSE (probably me being paranoid but still, I need every chance I can get :rotfl:)

I'd rather it looked like I'd stumbled across the competition while browsing their website, instead of just clicking, entering, then leaving again.

Yeah try it then right click on the page 'View Page Source', it'll show up as if you went directly to the site to enter the comp. Also try this by clicking directly on a link and 'View Page Source' ;)
