Free Alton Towers tickets from The Sun

Is anyone still waiting for thier free park tickets to arrive from The Sun, maybe I'm being impatient but thought they may have arrived by now, we did ask for the August date band mind you so maybe thats why they havent arrived yet.

My tickets have only arrived this morning and they are for 13 June. I was beginning to panic that there was a problem! I'm sure they will be with you soon.

Thanks everyone, glad I'm not the only one whos waiting and it seems its the popular date band that we are all waiting for.

Well ours arrived today and are for the 11th September so not the August date band that we needed.

Can anyone clarify please if we can actually swap these tickets? It says in the T&C's that they are not transferable and must be used only be the party they were issued to? there is a bar code on the back so is this tied to the person they were issued to?

I have 2 September dated tickets but really need August dated ones but I'm worried that we will turn up hand them over and will get told off!!! and then charged full price.....

Does anyone know if they check the tickets on the gate??

Ive exchanged tickets in past years and have never had a problem,just go to the turnstile and put your ticket in the machine and walk in.

They check the ticket as in you enter it in to the turnstyle and only the correct date is let through. But they don't have a list of tickets and names and you have to take ID to prove you are who you are if that is what you mean?

Thanks - no I was worrying that my surname was connected to the bar code and when we pay for the other two tickets that we need using a debit card they would see that the free ones wernt the ones issued to us (if we are lucky enough to get a swapsy that is!)

why not just draw cash out so the surname isnt an issue? Plus as you say "we" I am assuming if you are questioned, simply explaining that the person with you has a different surname to you (card in your name, tickets in theirs) will explain things
