Baby naming ceremonies. It's the civil/secular version of a Christening.0 -
Well, i would say thanks but youve all put a real downer on this now
The title IS Celebratory Officer (i guess it is a posh term for registrar) and no, the hours and pay scale were not printed anywhere. I havent asked for help before, not too sure i will again!!
I have spent soooooooooooo long searching for a job i was all excited about actually getting an interview
oh well, serves me right for posting a question i guess!:coffee: 7plus2 :smileyhea0 -

If you read the recruitment pack (which I found via Google second result down) it says it's a zero hours contract with work as and when required.
As for the hours: In our busy marriage season (April to October) you will be required to be available throughout the week and at least three weekends out of four. When it’s a little quieter (November to March) you will be required to be available throughout the week and at least one weekend out of four. This could of course vary depending on demand.0 -

Thankyou for that BAP98189! I guess i was rather hoping that someone would already be doing this so would be able to give me a very rough idea as to hourly rate etc. but this is helpful, and rather more positive than some of the replies

but if there was someone else already doing it but for another council they could have a different contract eg 1 that doesnt state zero hours
theres nothing wrong with posting questions and not sure why you would think that0 -
If it helps, at my local authority the registrar salary starts at £21k and increases grades with seniority i.e. superintendent registrar which I think is about 25k. They receive extra pay plus mileage for 'off site' weddings at licensed venues.0

It really isn't.
The amusing part is this: Kent Registration Service is looking for Celebratory Officers to conduct their diverse range of civil ceremonies, these include marriages, partnerships, renewal of vows, welcomings and funerals.
Celebratory Funerals!!!
Yes, I noticed that too. Lost count of the amount of funerals I have "celebrated", Utter nonsense.0
