Mardatha - I feel a bit moany about the weather too. Took DD to 1st day of her new nursing placement - sky was blue when I got in the car, got to hers 5 mins later and it was pouring. But...I think we are to get good weather for the rest of the week!
Haribo - sorry to hear that they haven't paid up. Hope this week is a better one.
GreyQueen - sorry to hear about your mum's shoulder - hope the massage helps. My mum had a frozern shoulder when we were young. We used to put a plastic bag over our hand and massage in Algipan (sp??). Goodness how we used to moan about doing it. I feel so guilty thinking about that now!
Well - anyone remember my loss of memory re locking the bottom lock of DD;s door? Turns out her OH's brother had been round and had locked it. Whew. Brain still functioning (ish).
Soup to make this morning. Spicy minestrone type. Something with wedges and salad for tea. Out for a drink tonight -yippee.
Off to hunt for my copy of Tightwad Gazette - haven't read it for a couple of years so I'm looking forward to a reread.

Can't you tell its Monday?!? :D

I think its more the fact that I have people around me that say I am working too hard and I just think "well offer to bloody help me then!!!" Or I ask for some help and just get attitude back.

Sometimes the greatest gift people can give is their time. It is also the one thing that people are least willing to give.

The OH works 20 hours a week. I work 60+. He then complains he doesnt have time to do something (or help me). Guaranteed I will go from zero to stratospheric within 10 seconds! :D
  • HI all,

Time is precious, and its more precious the less you have of it.

Im sorry so many people are feeling rotten and unhappy.

im a bit of a miserable Cow today myself.

Had a productive weekend, deepcleaned the downstairs bathroom, quick cleans of front room and bedroom etc lots of baking and using up of freezer contents into freezable meals...

    A blackforest gateux
    24 cheese scones
    2 huge shepherds pies
    3 fish pies
    a beef madras
    Beef in red wine sauce
    Mince and onion pie
    corned beef and potato pie.
Am going to have a good clean of the living room tonight and focus on the desk area, and clean the upstairs loo.

    All go!

HUgs to everyone who is feeling rank. x
    Trying to shift that debt!

Now, all together ladies, one...two...three.... -
    MOAN! :rotfl:

Your aren't taking the entire tops of them are you? A couple of "greens" from each would be OK, but I'm having a panic in case you scalp them and lose your onions.
  • can i join in with the Monday morning moan??

finally got our TC award and the reason that our payments have been going down is because we owe them £155 :( so we are now £5 a week down on them :(
have just submitted our meter readings online and they are only bl**dy putting out DD up by £15 a month and this is after we had switched :(
    **moan over**

luckily we have plenty of food in, with extra bread and milk in the freezer so i shouldn't have to go shopping this week :) and because we have a lot of food in i'm on course for actually coming in on budget this month :)
i have finally sent off the DLA claim form for DD so hopefully we will hear something from them soon and i'm praying it's good news

i am working today so in light of our gas and elec DD going up i will be making sure that i unplug everything before i go out

i don't much care for celebrities but, oh my word, that poor child, why on earth have the beckhams decided to call their new baby girl Harper Seven??????

right off to go and give the kitchen a quick tidy before i go to work

    Morning peeps

I am soooooooooo tired:( I must have laid in bed most of the night thinking about all the things I have to do and where to start. The end result being I have had no sleep and I am too tired to start anything and its gone 10:eek: Hoping another coffee will sort me out. Does anyone else cringe at the thought of sorting House/car insurance?? I know I feel great after I have done it and think about the savings/cashback etc but it is a day out of your life:mad:

Must paint the fence and pick DGD up from school. There are roadworks everywhere so everything I need to do takes three times as long and in this heat everyone is ratty. When driving home the other day a tree had fallen and hit a car (man was ok) but where the roadworks are it backs the traffic up to where the tree fell so I spend most of my time praying the trees don't hit me:rotfl::rotfl: its even more tiring being paranoid:)

Ok, it's definitely a mouse, and it's very much alive. Spotted it walking behind a vent we have. I'm officially the woman in the tom and jerry cartoons now, mentally stood on a chair hitching up my skirts and screaming :rotfl:

Pest control are coming tomorrow. I haven't called yet, but I know they're coming tomorrow even if I have to drag em here with my bare hands.

I lost 6lbs, so nearly at my pre visit to England weight. No particular diet, just not 3 gigantic meals a day with plenty of treats, snacks and dessert :o Happier at this weight and below since on the BMI scale it puts me in the good weight section, as opposed to the overweight one. I swear though I couldn't be slim in England, too much tasty food to hand. The choccy here in Australia sucks. Thankfully. And there are no real cream cakes here. Or Thorntons. Or Seabrooks crisps. Or decent fish and chips.

I think I just lost another lb in drool.

Well - it must be different people who are giving away electrical goods to those who are worrying about "food and fuel" I guess.)
TBH on my FB pages I have seen a number of ppl giving away their tv lately. Now I dont think they are in need of food etc ie in the same state as me(I know one of them is a charlatan who charges for so called tantric advice) but some of them could be and have just decided to downsize or make a lifestyle choice..
