Redlady - yes, just cut off the leaves and eat them. You may choose to cook them first!

Mardatha - stop leading redlady astray! Where would she get pavlova from at this time on a Sunday night anyway?

I was going to go down to the allotment but I think I have that can't-be-botherdness thing too. Also, I can't seem to stop eating! I think my body is convinced that it's really autumn and it should be putting on a layer of winter fat

That be the one stop just round the corner. Same one that sells crisps and wine!!! :D

Elona, let us know how the scone mix goes, I have some and haven't been very successful so far. The scones were heavy and a bit salty to me:o Im pretty good at scones anyway but the approved foods one was such a bargain.

Redlady - you've got a one stop - aka Baby Tesco - too? Top tip - get into your jammies early:rotfl:

Ginnyknit - try sifting the mix to aerate the flour and if a bit salty consider adding cheese for savoury scones

I cooked his nibs roast beef and all the trimmings today for helping me undercoat ready for the gloss-fest that is coming. He was more interested in the Twinks though! :D

I am hoping beating the heck out of it and using the remoska will help. Maybe raising agents?

I used a scone recipe from the remoska booklet a couple of years ago and everyone loved it - but lost the booklet!!!

Have decided to just use up stuff and experiment - DH and DDs will throw out stuff otherwise and I don't want that.

I am also hoping that if everything is in a jar and undated and tidy then it can be used up and enjoyed instead of sneered at.

Elona - I can PM you the recipe if you want - are you using a Standard or a Grande?

    Thanks.

It is the biggest one so think it is the grande.

DH managed to dint the the pan of it in the move last year which did not help.

A lot of the stuff just got shoved in cupboards etc last September when we moved so still finding things to be used up. DDs are on to use by dates like hawks so trying to outrun them.;)

I have learnt never to say I am using things up or "leftovers" - saying it is an experiment or a new recipe will mean they will give it a try.
