Well, I've just put in my claim for Job Seeker's Allowance. You can do it online which is much less stressful than having to speak to a human being as you can take your time and not get panicked.
Ohwell, at least it's done now and I'm in the system. Last year I had to claim and it took them 7 weeks to make a payment  I hope they are a bit faster this time round!Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Kittie, we have the same problems with drying onions - it always rains when you are trying to do it. However, have just had a thought. If the onions are put on the racks (we have wire mesh) then a tarp could be strung up over it, leaving the sides open. Tarps are cheap enough and multi-tasking, so that may be one solution.
Also looking at insulating shed a bit because some of them got frosted last winter. Am considering stapling old quilts to ceiling - what do you think?0 -
grandma247 wrote: »For the washing tent the cheapest price I have found is £44 at a camping shop online but that is too much for me. The clever thing is that you can zip several together but the cost would be:eek:
As for modifying a tent, the pop ups are ideal and it would just be a case of cutting round the frame leaving some fabric to sew the plastic to. It doesnt need to be fancy because we have a high wall around the yard so no one will see it.
Thanks for the info. Thats too much for me too!
I have got a 4 shelf mini greenhouse with the plastic cover though so I think that I will try to remodel that. Thinking of a hanging rail at the top for shirts/tops etc and either keeping the shelving at the bottom for undies or using some kind of wire across the frame to make it more like a washing line. Any better ideas greatfully received though:D0 -

Hi W Lothian, I'm up in the border hills0 -
re clothes washing. I now wash everything in cold water only, including dirty gardening jeans,DH socks, the lot. It saves not only oil but electricity too. I use laundry gloop or commercial powerer if you wish, at half the recommended rate, and a half scoop of oxi-white added to it. the whites are white, everything is lovely and bright and smells good and my washing machine no longer stinks. its an amazing breakthrough.0
