wow. I have been constantly thinking about where the heck I am going to leave my onions to dry for storage and a popup tent is ideal. Lol, trust you lot to get me thinking objectively. Now to get wire mesh on trellises and a tent or playhouse to put over them0

we have bowls in all the sinks and the one in the loo is good for flushing after washing hands
also ecocamel showerheads. They give a fantastic shower and use half the hot water0 -

we used to have one of these and it works perfectly! you can't really tell the difference. one thing i will say is that you cant use them with power showers, which is the only reason we dont have it now.
would also recommend gettin a little egg timer for when you in the shower...its suprising how much water you can save by just being in for a few less minutes! you can get ones that are 3,4,5 minutes, specifically for water saving!:TEvery act of kindness, no matter how small, isn’t wasted ❤️

Morning ladies...what a creative bunch you are..love the pop up tent idea..have 2 that tots don't use so will see if i can do something with them...
Freudianslip..aww your poor tot..i have had many run ins with dinner ladies over the years..last one not so long ago..my fern has a packed lunch..and she doesn't eat much but i do give her quite a bit..this particular dinner lady seems to have had it in for fern..poor child was almost hysterical about not putting so much in her luch bag..as if she didn't eat it all then the dinner lady would write her name in a book and tell the teacher she was wasting food...duh!!!!! effing cow bag...i went to see the teacher about it..she said it was not dinner ladies responsibility to do that at all...and was quite cross...we both went to see the woman and she was quite unmoved by ferns plight..almost blamed fern for it..told her it was my fault for putting in to much and if i did it was no concern of hers and as long as fern ate what she wanted to eat and was ok that was all she should bother with...had no trouble since..they moved her to the juniors..leaving fern and her mates in peace..
Right i'm off to do the washing hokey cokey..in out in out..am determined to do it if it takes all day...
take care

Do they work with low water pressure? I have low ceilings so my cold water tank is only a couple of feet above the shower, and that obviously determines the hot water pressure. I have no way of knowing what the pressure is, but the plumber has recommended special taps for low water pressure to help the bath fill more quickly.0 -
Thanks for posting the link, Grandma. The bike cave is just the sort of thingI need for the boys bikes.
The morning has been good. It was my youngest son's assembly and he was really good. I tried out the apple & cinnamon porridge I bought at the Green Fair. It was really tasty.
I saw a snippet on BBC London news this morning about a report concerned with the decrease in green gardens becausing of paving and decking. They said Londoners have to reconsider how they garden. It made me pleased with my polyculture attempt.
I have a morning of ironing planned then baking this afternoon.GC 2011 Feb £626.89/£450 NSD3/7 March £531.26/£450 April £495.99/£500 NSD 0/7 May £502.79/£500

IT'S TIME TO RENATIONALISE !
I am scared witless  and am now looking at the price of wood burning stoves with back boilers. I will also be buying lots of candles, and cooking on the BBQ in autumn and winter as well.
Well it was almost inevitable if I am being honest, In the budget the windfall tax on oil and gas companies was 20% and now suddenly we see a 19% rise in gas prices..........hmm great idea on how to reduce the budget defecit!
Since the price rise doesnt come in until 1st August I am going to see if we can cap our rate NOW even if it means we have to pay a small penalty to get out of the rate we are on.......I dont really want to change provider as they have historically been the cheapest and its all set up already. I know hassle factor shouldnt come into it.
Grey and miserable here today but still little rain so am having a houseowrk day and declutter at the same time - ebay may be full later :rotfl:

CBHM if there's a B&M store near you the hot water bottle's with cover's are half price at the moment or there are small one's in poundland as well I noticed last week.hth
The small ones from Poundland are in many ways more useful than the full size ones. I like to warm the bed in two or three places when I get in and I find one kettleful will fill three of the small hotties. They also fit up your jumper when you are sitting at a desk, although you need to make a fleece wrapper for them otherwise they cool down too quickly. I don't mind them cooling down quickly when I'm in bed - once I'm warm, I'm fineIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
You might need a trivet to help distribute the heat but I just use a cast iron pan and jobs a good 'un. I am also going to look into whether one of those eco fans will be worth it.
Redlady I have one of the Ecofans and I would say it is worth it. It doesn't spread the heat so far that it heats the whole of the downstairs whatever they may claim for it but it certainly evens the temperature in the (big) room it is in so I can burn the stove at a lower temperature. It's a very clever gadget and very quietIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0
