Just popped on to see what everyone's up to. I feel really low today for some reason :( Oh well, maybe the day will improve as it goes along. I never seem to quite get on top of things, somehow.

Sorry for the moan. I know a lot of you are in a worse position. I suffer from depression and I'm on my own, so I have no-one to help me when I'm feeling down and sometimes it's really, really hard. Today is one of those days.

Hope today is good for the rest of you. Just ignore this post, by the time I pop back on tonight I will probably be feeling better! :o

:) Don't apologise - we all feel down from time to time. ((((HUGS))))

I hope things are looking up for me healthwise, I have RA and leucopenia - after many years of feeling awful - physically and mentally and feeling that I have been getting lower and lower :(I saw a different doctor at my surgery - he referred me back to my Rheumatologist as I've developed peripheral neutropathy (numbness in extremities and odd spots) and ANOTHER blood test. :(48 hours later, I got a call from the surgery - the blood tests showed that I am very deficient in Vitamin D and have to start on an intensive course of vitamin therapy . . . a quick scan on t'internet shows Vitamin D deficiency is relatively common in ladies of a certain age (post menopause) who spend a lot of time indoors and/or autoimmune conditions and can cause extreme tiredness, poor sleep, non-specific aches and pains, low mood, weight gain etc etc.
I'd never ever heard of this before :) - and TBH the symptoms of Vitamin D fit my health problems to a 't'. Will keep you posted as to how the vitamin therapy works out but just wonder if its worth an ask at your Gp's for a blood test to confirm/exclude this as cause of feeling off colour?

CA, I am always going on about vitD. In this country all of us are low because we dont get enough sunshine. We take 2400iu a day, bought from Amazon. And I get my doc to test every 3 months to check that my levels aren't too high.

charlies-aunt ; thanks for that info. I have an autoimmune condition and for the past few weeks have been suffering from the symptoms you mentioned. My boss has just had a quiet word to say that they've all been a bit worried about me as I'm obviously not too good at the moment (they are aware of my health issues), and maybe I should see my GP. My inclination is to wait and see if I feel any better in a few days, but having read your post I think I'll go along and ask for a blood test.

Is there anything the posters on here don't know about?

and another thing about Mr T's.....you really have to watch their multipack prices eg. 1 tin of baked beans = 30p, a pack of 4 tins = £1-48, an extra 7p per tin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    and another thing:

My Sainsburys no longer do the tins of baking yeast! I refuse to pay the premium for easy yeast sachets. I only do home delivery so can't ask at the bakery for the free fresh stuff.

    Afternoon everyone.

*Walk to school week? You know the amount of fuss I have on my facebook over mothers whining because their child wants to walk to school so they can get points to win a pencil case for their effort is really driving me crazy. I walk 1 mile there and 1 mile back with my 2 children, they don't moan and neither do I, in fact I need that walk as part of my routine to keep my spirits high! It's hardly a challenge really is it?

On a separate note had a falling out with my sister over money. She wants me to give her a fiver every time I go out in the car with her. My argument is 'I don't mind buying you your lunch or a treat for your little one as a thank you but I can't be beholden to giving you £5 every single time' Her argument is 'you need me to get about and a car would cost a damn sight more than £5a trip and so would bus fare' My argument was 'I don't need you to get about, I'm quite content in my own locality and go out with DH at the weekend if it's any further afield' She said 'well why do you come out with me then?' I replied' because you're my sister, you're going anyway so I'm tagging along. I don't ask you to take me anywhere, I don't want or need to go anywhere, I just come with you' She left saying 'fine, I won't take you any where again then'

I just don't know how it got to that but I had to stick my ground and not agree to the fiver thing. We just have not the money for it, that's why we haven't got a second car any way. I know she's struggling with the upkeep of her second car but what she needs to do is stop using as much. She doesn't need that car, she wants it. I won't be made to feel guilty for not agreeing to pay for her petrol every time. I just can't do it. I'd rather stay in!

I've set myself a challenge. It's a year long challenge and consists of only shopping in charity shops for my clothes. I want to learn how to adapt stuff and not spend ££££'s on attire. Not sure how it's going to go but I'm hopeful I can really get to grips with it.

Apologies for nothing useful in this post. Just letting it out
I'm challenging myself to only buy clothes from charity shops till 20th May 2012.

Fuddled..good for you..i agree with you..if you buy her lunch anyway when you go out surely the extra money she wants is being greedy...also you should hear the whinging at our school about walking to school..lol..i chuckle as i live 2 mins away..but have lived further and walked it every single day come rain or shine and not whinged once..tots did but i didn't:D..they have been late arrivals and non attendances..as they live too far away to walk..so the kids didn't go to school at all..
Have just done my shopping online and got it down to £30.81..go me..my little stockpile is doing well and my freezer being full of HM stuff is helping no end..
be back later its tea time..HM fish cakes..

Sammy Kaye, your new house sounds great. I hope you get settled in soon.

Smileyt, I hope your day does improve.

I had a busy but enjoyable day. Eldest ds is off on study leave now for his GCSE's. He had an exam this morning and when he got home we went out for lunch.

My permaculture course is this weekend. I am really looking forward to it.

Ceridwen, thanks for the recommendation for 'Grow something to eat every day'. My copy arrived to day and I love it. I need to sow some more lettuce seeds this evening and pot some seedlings. There is always soemthing to do in the garden. I could do with a whole bed of lettuce just for eldest ds. Two of the pepper plants that got battered when the plastic growhouse toppled over look like they cannot be revived, which is disappointing.

I hope everyone has good weekend.
