Newbie here!!! Just thought I would pass on what I have found!!!
I have changed the title as this has managed to upset so many people?
http://direct.tesco.com/promo/?id=S00000737 £54.99
Triple points at Tesco until 10thDecember. So 54x3=162
Also use a 500 point code for a £50 spend http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=3577248&postcount=344
So, 162+500=662x4=2648, this is £26.48 worth of Deal vouchers.
This means effectively the shaver is only £28.51
Also use quidco for 3% cashback!!!
There is also a chest freezer which works out a good offer:
http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.100-2453.aspx £177.97
Triple points:177x3=531
Bonus points:1000(ends tomorrow)
500 point code(http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=3577248&postcount=344):500
Total:2031x4=81.24
This is £81.24 worth of Deal vouchers.
So price of freezer is only £96.73!!!
Looked around for prices of this freezer and from what I can see it was the cheapest around to begin with!!!
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=3577248&postcount=344

Bit misleading, Razor is £54.99 and you get 662 points. Clearly not £28.51, which is why I clicked on the thread.
In theory you could post an endless amount of Tescos electricals at a false price. Better to highlight a good deal and point out that lots of points available too.Blitzkreig Bob says Hi to those checking his validity!0 -
I'm following up to the point where you multiply the points by four in the sum above...where does the 'x4' multiplier come from?PrincessL wrote:

Hi, the 4 represents the value from Tesco Deal Vouchers, so instead of using your clubcard vouchers instore you can use them for other stuff:http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/
Sorry to paul.carter but I was trying to post helpful bargains, others have thanked me for it, if you weren't happy why waste the time to post. I didn't find your comments useful. I have read these forums for a long time and I don't like it when people only have bad comments to post.
Hope others appreciate my post!0 -
People DO get rightly a little annoyed with this type of post if the thread title is misleading.
It ISN'T £28.51. It is £54.99 plus you get 162 points and 500 points if you find a code.
662 points is worth £6.62 at Tescos. Yes, it might be worth £26.48 in 'Deals'.
You could also say it is £54.99 and you get 1588.8 BA Miles or 15888 Air Miles.
But it isn't £28.51 unless all you have to pay is £28.51 at the time you buy it.
OR, if I give you £28.51, will you buy me the shaver?????:DBritish Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

PrincessL, I undestand you were trying to be helpful but tesco clubcard pointsd are not worth 4x to everyone.
For instance, there are very few clubcard "deals" that I would actually buy normally. Of the few things that interest me, I find Chessington vouchers "quite" useful - £6.25 of clubcard vouchers will buy me an entrance ticket.
On the face of it, this entrance ticket "might" be worth the standard entrance fee of £29, which would indeed make the vouchers worth 4x face value.
However, like most of the "deals" that clubcard vouchers are aimed at, the same product or serice can be purchased for substantitally less money. I can buy Chessington entrance from LastMinute.com the day before I go at just £15, which means the clubcard voucher is not even worth 2.5 x face value to me. I can easily dig out discounts for RAC membership and the like, or discounted rooms at hotel chains. And I can eat at better non-chain restuarants than the ones on offer in clubcard deals.
One of the few ways in which I can make clubcard vouchers worth their full 4x face value is by spending them at MFI in the sale - but even that perk looks likely to end in April 2007.
So sorry for the long post, but I agree with the other posters who state that the title of the thread indicated the items could have been had for a smaller cash sum than in reality.
But I do appreciate your intentions were obviously good and helpful, and lots of people in these forums present information in this way, and indeed for some people the vouchers are indeed worth 4x face value. I wish I were one of them!0 -

Not wasting my time posting, I wasted my time searching for a £28.51 razor that didn't exist.
It is clear that you were trying to help, but if not informed otherwise how would your posts be accurate in the future?Blitzkreig Bob says Hi to those checking his validity!0 -

You know, the sad thing is that, even ignoring the clubcard poiints, this really is a very good deal - if you search on froogle, the lowest price that comes out is £90. We've lost sight of the original excellent deal in debating the value of the clubcard points.
So thanks to the OP for highlighting a good reduction on TescoDirect - it IS a good price, and I think you'd have had loads of respect just for posting that alone. But as others have said, the title of the thread made it looks as if the price was even lower - I would have been interested at £29, but not at more than £50.
So I've hit the Thanks button for you too PrincessL as there is no shop on Froogle which comes anywhere close to the Tesco price, please just take people's comments here as sincere advice about the price claims in the thread title, and I completely stand by my thanks to their posts too. If Tesco themselves had posted that claim, Trading Standards would have come down on them like a ton of bricks!0
