If i lost my Job and had to claim JSA - Would i get any help with paying my council Tax, water rates etc. I have a MPPI protection plan for my mortgage.

If your on JSA or have a low income then you can claim council tax benefit - being a home owner wont affect this.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

This should explain what you're entitled to.
I think you can get a Council Tax reduction if you have assets and savings of less than £16,000. I don't think you can get any help with paying your water, gas, electricity, etc.0 -
