tax credits 2011/2012

Hi All,

I started claiming tax credits back in jan when my son was born. I'm 24 and claim working tax credits and child tax credits which help me out to pay my rent (private rented) and council tax due to being on a low income. I got the final payments for what i am told is year 2010/2011 and they are to be renewed for this tax year? Do i have to do any thing? Will i not get any thing until i renew them or this done automatically. Also i get paid monthly and my rent is usually taken out before i get paid so i'm starting to panic abit about being able to afford the rent  thanks in advance for any advice!

you get estimated payment until you get your renewal pack and renew, you can't renew til you get your pack but they won't leave you without anything

Your award notice should show run-on payments for the new tax year, which will apply till they process the renewal
  • Briliant Thanks for that! 1 less thing to think about! :D
