It is very essential to clarify all your doubts before buying anything used and certainly you should follow certain tips before purchasing and these are:
Get detailed knowledge about the condition of car including engine, exteriors, interiors and accessories.
Check out the year of manufacture and previous maintenance records
Negotiate the price and compare it with other dealers as well
I too did the same and bought a used Miata from automotix at an affordable price in an excellent condition.0 -

WBAC offer the raw trade value for the car - they dont profess to offer a retail valuation - so it is an 'actual value', though not necessarily the best one you'll get.
Also, your 'trade in' price may well include discount wrapped in to the value of your car that you would otherwise have got with no trade in anyway.0 -

Inspect the tyres for ditchfinders or even worse mis-matched ditchfinders.
If the previous owner has scrimped on tyres what else have they scrimped on?
Also research car ads, try and spot the ads where the car has been clearly loved, you can usually spot them as they are a huge amount of pictures and honest descriptive text.0
