virgin credit card

Hope someone can advise me.

I have been paying payment protection on my virgin credit card for almost 10 yrs. This month I have been made redundant. When I spoke to virgin they told me I had payment to protection and to submiit a claim.

I did and was told by the insurance company Im only covered for illness. Is there anything I can do to claim this money back. Im angry that ive paid it all this time and when I need it its worth nothing.

thank you

    Hiya

In this case the policy have been worthless to you, and maybe you could write back and tell them you were not aware that you were only protected for illness and in this case are requesting a refund of what you have paid into the account of PPI plus interest.

Explain you put in a claim for unemployment in assuming you were covered for all but not just for illness and was refused a recently applied for claim.
Tell them you now believe the policy was worthless to you.

Give it a go, they have 8 weeks but may ask for more time.

    Good luck.

Not having a particular type of cover is not a reason for mis-sale. they will probably just pull out a letter from the time of sale that shows you were informed of what type of policy it was.

The only way roonaldo can know what vigin will 'pull out' is if he works for them?

Virgin were associated with MBNA. Some of their credit card PPI was almost a scam product.

This type of insurance is well known for being very hard to claim on . I would write to say, after paying for 10 years their poor product has left you in trouble at a time when it's needed!
