I like the idea of theatre tickets, my parents are notoriously difficult to buy for but because they rarely go out of their own accord I buy them tickets to a concert or play.
They've always praised my choices too, because it's something a bit different!0 -
I'd second the charity suggestions. If they are as well off as I suspect, then your 'little vouchers' won't mean an awful lot. (I don't mean that in a bad way

I've bought a goat before as a present. Well, I paid for one for a village in Africa to receive it. Was very much appreciated, and you can all get a bit of a glow from knowing that you've done someone, somewhere some good.0
