Car rental cancellation charges

Hi,
I booked a rental car through Opodo for the end of December. They now tell me that it will cost a £20 admin fee to cancel, plus another £20 admin / cancellation fee for Hertz who are the rental company. Is that legal? Do the same rules apply as for excessive bank charges?

I got hit with the same charge by Opodo back in July and I was not happy about it. After doing a bit of research it seems that is it's the norm for a lot of car hire companies.
Always worth checking these sort of things before booking a car.0 -
I would ring hertz direct 08075996699 just ask them if they charge cancellation fee ??? you are cancelling well in advance...I would love to be a Travel Agent :j0
