Travel Insurance Question

HI all,

Does anyone have any advice on the following?

I've just returned from Thailand following an accident where the longtail boat i was travelling in capsized in freak high waves. I have been injured with bruising, cuts to back, strained ligament in knee and general whiplash tightening across body. The company that owned the boat are a tiny beach outfit on Koh Phangan. I doubt they even have an address. I have a police report and a medical report where i spent the night in Bangkok hospital.

Question is there anyway of being compensated for the injuries and trauma? It was a frightening experience and we were lucky no one was killed. Does travel insurance work like car insurance? What happens when there is no-one to sue?

I appreciate any advice.

Kind regards Hub
