PC finding Service

Are there any best deal finding services for laptops, as there are with say finding gas, electric, or phone suppliers.
I could really do with one, as to be honest all the jargon goes clear over my head. I know what I need the laptop for but how to find this in a laptop baffles me.
I thought if there was a site that took your information, and gave you back the technical jargon to be able to search for one that could be really helpful.
Is there such a thing?

Never seen one... there are plenty of price comparison sites once you have a list of models but havent seen any tool to create the list of models in the first place. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

I wonder if there are any techies out there that could produce some thing like this. Not being skilled it that way myself, there seems a definate marketing potential here.
Some relatively simple, questionaire where you ask the buyer what they are looking for in a computer, for example this is what I am after:-
Laptop, with battery life longer than 3 hours,
Cool running, as I will use it on my lap quite a bit
Screen big enough to view without straining my eyes,
Easy to carry around, with cases cheaply and easily available,
Usage for wordprocessing
Database compiling
Downloading and manipulation of digital photos
Storing photos(maybe by external hard drive)
USB port for camera
Suitable for coral draw(school level, teaching aid)
Using the internet
Easy punching keys which aren't too close together
Ability to attach mouse, I hate those built in finger types
See my wants are not too demanding, but when I look at the computers via the internet they talk about ram, and graphic card capacity, mb of storage, type of processor. To be honest it means bo didley to me, I just want to know that when I buy one that I will be happy that it can run everything that I need it to, I am unlikely to want to run games on it, if and when DD is old enough she want it to we will look at an appropriate Xbox equivalent of that generation.
Its just I have a natural distrust in the knowledge of staff at the likes of pc world and currys or comet. Whenever I have enquired before as long as they can read the label they can tell you what it has got. Well I can do that!! tell me how that will be of benefit to me thats what I need to Know!
Sorry I am ranting here and I don't mean to, If anyone reads this and can point me in the right direction for understanding computer jargon I would much appreciate it.
Thanks MikeywillsI had a plan..........its here somewhere.0
