HHI done then caught up a bit with the thread.

Im thinking of changing to flooring in the living room to laminate. Are there any downsides to laminate? Or is carpet best.

Still waiting for the builder to do the loft though. Will ring him this week.

    Mudbath Hi:hello:

Soappie Hi:hello: Love the photos and oh what lovely kittens.

Toots Im glad the move went well and the weather held for you. Enjoy your new home. Best wishes.

Soappie hey, good to see you, but sorry to hear that things haven't been so good. Would a Wolfy (((HUG))) be any help? And a hug for BB as well of course. Cute kitties, btw.:D

Thanks for the Wolfy hugs - they are much appreciated! Hope you and yours are well xxxx

kazw - glad you liked the photos

Toots - glad your move went OK and that you're making new friends with your neighbours

Boddy - and a big hi and high five back to you. And yes, the kittens are lovely - but then I'm biased

I think I've had a surfeit of sunshine and outsideness today - I could just crawl into bed and sleep the sleep of the newborn baby. Yesterday was sunny, but there was a cool breeze which kept the temps down. Today has been glorious.

I've repotted some plants, potted some seedlings on, planted some new seeds which are now in the "nursery" area on the sunniest kitchen window ledge. I have washed and line dried for Britain. I have also delivered about 500 hundred flyers for a community meeting on Weds AND I cleared a severe hotspot in the kitchen...

I am now cooking Sunday roast and am wondering if apples and rhubarb will go together for a pie for pudding...... only one way to find out!

Kitchen and bathroom cleaned this morning
All downstairs windows washed outside and front door
Garden all swept and tidied including most of last years pots emptied
Planted out 2 x gooseberry bushes, 2 clematis, soaked 3 roses for planting tomorrow, 3 more lots of potatoes, more salad leaves and some flower seeds. Then onto beans and peas - dwarf beans, borlotti beans, mangetout and a successive peas sowing

Very pleased with how much I have done in the garden meaning just some weeding left to do and the roses to plant out.

Also all washing dried lovely on the line, with another load to go out tomorrow

Back aching and very tender from physio so haven't been out on the bike yet - might try a little run out first thing in the morning before the rush hour

Then back to work and the routine - can't wait until Easter for a break! Will try and keep up with the cleaning a bit better next week again

PS - well done on your move toots - it sounds like it went very well organised and smoothly. Hope you settle in quickly

They go together nicely in a crumble so I'm sure they'll be just as yummy in a pie!!

I have had a lovely lazy day today - although I have done washing which dried outside and I have sorted the kitchen whcih needed a bit of a tidy. Will also be cleaning out 2 furry cages once they decide to wake up!

Might do some dinner first ....

    .

Well, a bit of a result... I only do pud when DS is round and yes, he's round tonight. I started to prep the rhubarb (thought I'd stew it lightly first) and he declared he didn't think he wanted pudding so I put the knife in the washing up bowl and the rhubarb back in the fridge :D

I'm just glad I hadn't actually started on the pastry first...

We changed to laminated just over 2 years ago. I was the one that wasn't to keen (mainly because of the dog slipping) but I have to say its brillant. Anything can now go through the house (mainly kids and dog - neither wipe feet) and a quick sweep n mop and its as good as new. I amazes me what muck must be stored in carpets:rotfl:

I've lost the thread of the thread I'm afraid, but gather toots move went well - must be a relief.

We have gone decluttering crazy here today - DH has pulled out the entire garage - still not finished though - the floor needs painting, a workbench to construct and locked cabinet to buy - but at least the stuff in there is meant to be there!. Got a monstrous pile to ebay now though...........

I've also pulled out the coat cupboard, painted a set of hooks found in the garage so that kids can hang there own stuff up at child height (once dh puts it up that is.....)

cooked a lovely chuck, done 3 loads of washing, a sainsbos shop, popped into work to pick up some paperwork I left there and I've sewn the 2nd sleeve into Emmy's new dress - I might even finish it tonight!!!!!!!!!

Emmy was really lovely at work today - I took her into the day room to say hello to a couple of the patients who don't really get visitors and she performed like a real trooper, telling them her age and name and all about her little brother, I was very proud of her confidence.

    Hope the sunshine lasts!!

    Hi,
    Beautiful day
Glad the move went well Toots

I have done loads, but it still seems like there is lots more to do.
I'm just gona cook, pasta tonight cos I didn't know what time DH would be home.
He has just been in the loft for me and there are 2 wasps in there. He's going away tomorrow , so nothing we can do about it.
We did have a nest a few years ago, but it wasn't inside, it was in the eaves. Had to get a man out.
I'm trying not to worry about it, cos I'm not reet good on my own anyway!
Hey ho. Right - off to cook. See you on the new thread

boddy - I have laminate in the kitchen, and also in DD's bedroom. I like the way it looks, and also find it easy to keep clean. On the downside, it does seem to chip and scratch easily - a piece of grit under the chair leg results in a huge scratch. We bought a more expensive water resistant laminate from B&Q for the kitchen (it's resistant to water splashed, but not to washing machine floods, we discovered...) and it was much easier to lay than the cheaper budget one that DD chose for her room. When you choose some, try to lay out a few planks in the store, as it looks different when it's down compared to a small piece on display. We found that the trim they sell to go round the edge was very dear, so OH (originally a carpenter) bought some quadrant and stained it to match.

soappie:j:hello: - lovely to see you!

toots - wishing you loads of happy times in your new house! It sounds great (especially the garden - what's in it already????)

    - I'm having an airhead day today - it is you who goes to Thailand isn't it?? It's five years today that I went to Bangkok to join DS1 when he was ill, and I decided this week, that I really, really want to go back. I said I would when we came back, and I want to do it before I'm too decrepit to have a great time! So, serious saving needs to be happening here too. Unfortunately, I think I'll only be able to go for two weeks, as I can't get longer off school, and I'm guessing that August wouldn't be a great time to go? Any recommendations of where to go as well as Bangkok?

:hello:dusty - lovely gardening weather again today. Allotment this morning, then after lunch actually went out to a Hardy Plant Society plant sale, and looked around the garden it was in - DS1 and DD came too. I cheekily asked at the gate if concessions included two reluctant teenagers who are only there for the tea and cakes??!! It worked - he only charged for me!!:D

:hello:hex -hope you're still getting the chance to enjoy the sun. I love wisteria.

:hello:Hi to all my flylady friends! Love and hugs to toots, lady-liberty and lamewolf
