Mortgage Life Insurance

Options
HI

I had a rare Cancer back in 2002, I've been clear now for 2 years.
My existing mortgage was paid off in full (endowment insurance) & i was thinking of moving to a bigger house.

Will any Insurance Company insure me for a new Mortgage considering my past medical history or do i have to be clear for 5 years or more?

Money saving is now a way of life:cool:

3 years is unlikely but there is often only one way to find out and that is to speak with a range of underwriters. This can usually be done via an IFA or a protection advisor.

Many cancers need a 10 year period to be clear.

If you have any existing policies - worth checking if they have a "guaranteed insurability/ extension " clause - allowing increase on cover without new medical underwriting

  • ummm...Ok, I was diagnosed with a rare cancer last year. It was surgically removed, and the numbers are 30-50% chance that i'll live for 5 years or more. I was fool enough not to to chase my mortgage provider, or any other for that matter to get life insurance when we took out the mortgage. And for some reason my mortgage provider has never questioned whether, as we don't have it with them, do we have it with anyone else.
Is there ANY product, no matter how expensive, from anyone to deal with this? I would feel so much better about getting thru the next few years knowing things would be covered should the worst happen.

cheers for any help or advice, i know i've been an idiot and a fool, this cancer is rare in the over 60's (1 in 200,000) but in someone of 31, almost unheard of....
