Open you eyes BEFORE pumping your gums.

This is what woodbine wrote (post 15):

there are still some local authorities that have a register
failing that being in receipt of DLA has the same meaning as being "registered disabled"used to have

In fairness to Invalidation, you made your comment on post 4, and have not bothered to acknowledge that your post was incorrect, HAVE YOU
Opinions are like bottoms - We all have one, just some stink more than others

Service Attributable Pension - War Pension - War Pensioners Unemployability Supplement - War Pensioners Invalidity Allowance - War Pensioners Comforts Allowance - War Pensioners Mobility Allowance - War Pensioners Child Allowance - Housing Benefit - Council Tax Benefit

First off nobody nowadays is REGISTERED disabled that was stopped years ago.

Your problem has nothing whatsoever to do with disability equality.

You are a Council/LA tenant, you do not own your own home and as such you have to wait for repairs along with many many other tenants of social housing.

Not in my county - i was registered disabled last year - and now have a yellow card confirming i'm disabled (as it's done through occupational therapist). I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. It is a very real disability. I also have fibromyalgia - which drastically reduces sufferers quality of life.
Anyway - the reason for registering people disabled is mainly for your local councils statistics. Having the card in your posession also entitles you for free swimming sessions, and it's handy to have when claiming concessions for reduced entry to certain attractions (as your blue badge needs to stay in the car and you need proof).
Waiting that long for repairs to your shower is unacceptable. You are disabled, and that is the only way to maintain your own personal hygeine. Put in a complaint.

I wonder if Scollobcat10 would have been happy living underneath me about six weeks ago when my bathroom floor was giving way taking the toilet with it into the flat below. Would you be happy in those circumstances with me saying "Sorry you will have to wait because its social housing" I had to get on to Environmental Health to hurry it along. We have a really nice neighbour downstairs but if we had someone with a bad attitude like this i wouldnt have bothered hurrying it along.
