I have allowed 600 for flights and 400 towards food when we are over there. Obviously if I found flights for 400, I would only need 800 - but I think it's best to aim high, than to aim low and be disappointed if we can't go.
Why would you need £400 for food over there? I assume that you are staying with your parents as you don't mention accommodation. Therefore, won't you just spend the same there on food as you do here?
You could easily raise the money with matched betting. See the GIOL thread.

i would go for the matched betting, dead simple to make a grand within 3 months risk free, read up on the forums and use a site like freebets4all who show you how to set the bets up.
i have done this and quite a few bookies are partner friendly so you can both do it.
if you do decide to go ahead get referred for betfair as most people split the commision 50/50, just pm them for referral code before you sign up.
Avoid the casinos as there is too much to lose and its not risk free just stick to the football betting0 -
Oh for goodness sake, ignore the naysays on here. I second the matched betting suggested above if you can get your head around it. If not, i have also made you a suggestion - see your pm'sThe only thing we know for sure, is that we know nothing0

Have you had any luck freckles in deciding how to raise £500?
I would like to go camping in France but would need to raise some money.0 -
If you sign up to skybet (and of course do a referral
then type in WELCOME in the promotional bit to get £5 free at Sky Vegas and you can instantly make a bit more, every little helps as they say!!

Guys - this betting thing, I'm confused - surely there's money to be lost with betting?? But to say I'd easily make 1000 in three months is majorly tempting!0

Sell what you don't use any more, EBAY or a car boot sale or both
Find somewhere you can do a few hours a week e.g. a pub, and put that away. You need to get £250 a month though, which is quite a lot if you are working already.
Review your budget, to see where you can make small savings e.g. groceries, water bills etc...cancel unnecessary subscriptions. There are threads on here where others have done similar.0 -

I'm in the process of getting everything ready for a huge carboot. I also have some designer clobber than I'm going to put on eBay, so hopefully that will raise a few hundred.
Have bundles and bundles of decent kids clothes, but not sure whether I'll make enough at a carboot, or best to sell on eBay?? I notice eBay now have postage limits which is a bummer, as I used to make a few quid out of postage. It's rather unfair, as it seems they are using just Royal Mail costings, and not any cost towards packaging etc.0 -
How about babysitting/ dog walking/ gardening/ cleaning! eBay/ car boot sales should make you a few quid! I would steer clear of betting etc! I don't see how you can make money out of that and definitely steer clear of any adult work ( you would have to be desperate to do that)!0

I was about to suggest adult chat lines - you can do it at night, there are no child care costs and they pay quite well if you stick at it. I make about £90 a week from only a couple of hours a day. But as the previous poster said, 'you would have to be desperate'. How rude and narrow minded.0
