Do I have to do things that are not in my Job Description

My company has made a lot of people redundant recently and asked if I could take on some additional duties, which I agreed to....now I have been asked to do virtually anything they feel like asking, which are really making me feel demoralised. The things I am being asked to do are really menial tasks....I wouldn't mind, but there are far junior members of staff working there, and they never get asked to do them !
I don't want to say no to the tasks because I fear for my job, but it's making me really annoyed.
Any advice ?

You should only be asked to carry out duties which are commensurate with your post, otherwise where does it end.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

Well, that's what I figured....but i'm not sure how to bring it up :-(0

like I said menial tasks......really anything that needs done....making tea, photocopying, but my workload is really quite a lot at the moment without that...0

There is likely to be a clause in your job description and contract along the lines of "may be asked to undertake additional duties on an ad hoc basis" or words to that effect. Your employer can ask you to undertake work outside of your job description.
If you feel that the tasks you are being asked to do are too menial, you could always say no or make a suggestion that x does them instead.
Sorry, menial tasks such as photocopying and making the tea are jobs for everyone, at least when you are photocopying or making the tea you are not available for anything else. Give me strength that you are moaning about making the tea be thankful that you have a job because there are millions out there that don't and I feel sure would love a job making the tea and photocopying because it is better than being on the dole.
I am self employed and one of my clients expects me to make the tea and do the photocopying and these are outside of my remit but I don't make a song and dance about it, I get on with it because if I am doing these tasks then I am not sat in front of the computer all day sending emails or sorting out the accounts.0 -

No offence - but I thought you meant mucking out the toilets or sweeping the floor or [what we do in gardening] shoveling manure around the place. And yes, I LOVE every minute of it!
If making tea or photocopying is above you then heavens above.

Why are poster attacking the OP? She has said she is willing to do additional tasks ... I dont get the impression at all that she is saying that these tasks are below her in any way, just that her employers perception of her as a tea-maker/dogsbody is demoralising.
OP - How about flipping the situation and speaking to your employer with regard to making the best use of your time in these times austerity, particularly if your finding your workload difficult? Without being rude/confrontational and stating how you understand these tasks are necessary, make the point that if you are making the tea/photocopying you cant be doing jobs that only you (but the junior members of staff cant) can do. Also maybe suggest a couple of things you could take on doing.

Is your job description refered to in your employment contract? If it is then it is contractual and they would have to consult with you to vary it. If it is not contractual they will still have to discuss but they could just chnage it as and when like they have done.0
