Stealing from graves

Just been to my grans grave with my mum to find that someone has dug up the plants we put in 2 weeks ago, done in the last few days as there were perfectly dug holes where the plants had been. This is the third time this has happened in the last couple of months. When my sister got married, she put her flowers on the grave, a few days later someone had taken them and replaced them with a tiny dead bunch of daffs.
We also have had the vases pinched.
I don't mind saying I went mad, looking for near by graves with the same flowers in we had planted.
How can it be acceptable to do this? How could a person think that their dead relative would be happy about this?
We go to the grave regularly and I'm going to go along every day this week to see if the flowers we put there are still there.
Just an upset rant

Sadly this is very common. The family grave I visit has had flower containers and a small statue stolen. It is near the entrance so one of the first you come across. We have had to accept that this is what happens and some people just don't have morals about stealing from a grave.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

they are low lifes, if the council are responsible for maintaining the graveyard they could monitor it, if it is happening regular and people complain0

Just posted something similar on another thread.Last week a friend told me of children taking flowers real and artificial from a graveyard next to a football pitch while the parents watched on and did nothing.Wish I had been there!!0

I know how you feel. It is bad enough the rabbits here eating everything without thieves stealing stuff too. Someone stole a holly wreath from my mum's grave at Christmas. Never did find it and it is one of the graves farthest from the gate so they must have walked for ages to find the best holly wreath.0

Why does it happen, stealing a bunch of flowers or a wreath is just petty,0

It's absolutley bloody disgusting and it makes me sick thinking that someone would stoop so low.
I walk through my local Church grave yard from time to time as it's quite pretty, especially in the Spring with all the Daffodils coming out and I ALWAYS see junkies/drunks/homeless people etc wee'ing on the graves, in the gardens, on the side of the Church. I would have had a right go at the last bum I saw but I had my daughter with me and I didn't want to risk it in case he was crazy and started chasing us.
I'm going to email the Vicar and see if they're aware and if they're going to do anything about it. It's truly disgusting. Perhaps you could contact the keeper of the yard where your Grandma is buried and see if they can do anything.0 -
