Hey guys
just a quick post...
setting up a new business online, so far i have paid very little for a domain name, webhosting, registered my company and am in the middle of creating the website with my business partner. we have a server but very small we will upgrade if we get bigger is there anything else I should be expected to pay? I know advertising is allot of expense but so far its been more time sorting the website out (I do after work) than splashing out the cash, you guys may think I have missed a chunk of payments out but the reason I ask as I was doing this website as a hobby and as the idea went forward we could tell it could make business hence why I havent gone down the right paths as yet.
cheers.

I'm not really sure what you're asking here?0 -
Fair enough, just wanted to know is there anything else I should be paying for to get this website up and running? as I said so far I have paid webhosting, domain name, registered company, website and server.0

You may need to pay for some kind of merchant/card processing. And VAT?0

Sounds like you have the site covered off.
Make sure the site is as professional as possible. The next 'trick' is driving traffic to it, and also generating revenue through it.0 -

What does your business plan say?
It's very easy to set up a website but very difficult to run a successful business.
Setting up a website is not the same as starting a business....0 -
I think you have everything sorted. Next thing is make sure you have a professional and user friendly design. Try getting inspiration from competitor sites and see what they are doing...0

Just install Cube Cart or something similar and get someone to make a nice logo

Oh, one more thing - terms of business. Don't just use boilerplate terms, but yet your lawyer to read them through. Allow 2hrs/£350 to know you're not breaking laws, and that you can pursue any debts elegantly, or whatever.
And if you are posting stuff out, allow for the extra cost of 'signed for' not as an option but as mandatory on every item, or you WILL get idiots demanding refunds for non-delivery, even if delivered!0
