Primer or something for oily skin

The bright side to oily skin is that your skin is less likely to age as bad as someone with really dry skin. Also the misconception that you will not need to moisturize is totally wrong. You may produce oil but still have dehydrated skin. So still moisturize but dont use something to rich. In some cases the body may over produce oil if it is being deprived of it.
Clinique repair wear is a good one, its oil free but last all day. You only need a very small amount so it lasts alot longer. My only bug bear about clinique is that the colours are very pink. If only they could tweak the tones!0 -
Primers are all silicon based and have to applied with care. You have to apply them with a very light hand or have an oil slick in no time. Your makeup can also start to roll off in lumps!!!
MoM sounds fantastic.0 -

Yes primers are mostly silicone based but the ones that are used to control oil are not because as you quite rightly said they add to the slick, dont even bother with silicone ones if you are oily, good luck with the MoM:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -
The only thing that has sorted my oily skin/dry patches (yep, had both!) was starting the Oil Cleansing method - it means completely changing how you clean your face, but I can honestly say I have no issues anymore with my face getting oily through the day, or dry patches (unless I've been skipping OCM for a week or so...
). My skin is probably the best it's ever been in my life.
There'a a massive MSE thread on it here, and quite a few forum people are converts: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/9177330 -
First of all prep your skin with an oil free moisturiser followed by the Body Shop's Matte It. I'd also look into Bare Minerals range for foundations etc. Being powders, they absorb oil and last throughout the day. They are so much kinder to the skin too and don't clog pores. I've never looked back....0
