Things to do in Brittany in Dec

Off to Brittany for 5 days in middle of December. Apart from buying an obscene amount of cheap wine, could anyone suggest any days out / attractions in the area. We are staying about halfway between Rennes and Dinan.
How do we go about finding out when various local markets are on?
Any suggestions would be greatfully received.

Hi
certainly you shall visit St. Malo with its old town and famous walls. If you have time visit also the spa and the famous spa hotel directly on the beach.
You can go also to Dinard, very close to St. Malo, to see the old English villas.
Close to St. Malo and Dinard, there is Cancale,famous for its oysters.
Very close there is also Mt. S. Michel (although it's in Normandy).
To see when there are markets, check the websites of the local tourist boards, they shall not be difficult to find on google, or ask the locals when you are there.
Very often there are markets on the week end in France, but it's quite some time since I heve been to Brittany, so I'm not sure.

I hadn't appreciated that Mount St Michel was so close - a definite visit there I think. I have also found the page of market days for this region (Cote D'amour - very romantic) on the livingfrance web site.
