It depends on what definition your are using to define a reseller.

If you mean they don't produce their own energy, then that would be true of all the energy suppliers (although some have sister companies within the same group)

However, an energy reseller usually refers to someone that resells energy without a licence that they have purchased from an authorised supplier. (e.g. a landlord reselling to their bedsit tenants) In such circumstances, the resale price of the energy sold by the reseller must not exceed the price the reseller bought it for.

Ebico are a supply company. They are the only UK not for profit supplier, but don't confuse not for profit as having to resell at the price they purchase at; their accounts show healthy surpluses and these are used and distributed as per their own rules.
In order to keep their costs down, they supply in partnership with SSE using the SSE supply licence ... but Ebico have their own tariffs and can theoretically charge what they want (subject to what the market will withstand)

Ebico also use SSE as their billing agents, resulting in SSE effectively treating Ebico tariffs as just another of their own, but Ebico is actually a separate company.

Ebico pricing is aimed at the low user and has the basis that it is the same price for everyone no matter how they pay ... so PPM customers tend to do better with ebico as ebico effectively subsidise the cost by not giving discounts to those that pay monthly by DD (unlike most other companies).

So if you are a high user and on a credit meter who is willing to pay monthly by DD, then you will almost certainly find SSE prices lower than ebico's.
