Earliest Discharge

Let's face it, guys, this forum can get a bit depressing at times.

A lot of people come here for the first time because they're facing major problems in their life. They're nervous, scared and anxious about the implications of declaring themselves bankrupt and have turned to the MSE board for help.

Declaring yourself bankrupt is a serious step. There are a lot of potential ramifications and you shouldn't take the step lightly.

However, as a number of people on here have found, it's not always as painful as you might think and there is light at the end of the tunnel so, to lighten the mood, I thought I'd start a thread to see who has had the quickest ED* on the board.

There's no prize involved, apart from perhaps including it in your auto signature, and this is just meant as a bit of fun.

* - Early Discharge. Not referring to any other type of ED that may require medical treatment.

Well it won't be me - I went 10 months before ED, and my hubby went 12 months all but 4 days!!!! (361 days) Why they gave him ED then I don't know! lol

My memory fails me as to who it was but someone got ED in 5 months and 1 day.

There have been a handful, as in Fermi's post who have done it in 5 months and 3 days.

Bearing in mind a month can be anything from 28 to 31 days, perhaps quoting ED in total number of days would be more accurate? Would love to see some comparisons.

  • I'm only 20 days in so no where near being even considered for ED yet only 346 days to go (next year is a leap year so I'll have an additional day of BR if nor ED)
  • I managed 5 months 11 days- but less if you take off all the bank holidays over xmas and the weekends i suppose.:T

It can be good to discuss who gets the fastest ED but it can be very frustrating and annoying if it passes you by and you have to wait for an AD. Good luck to all those who get ED's but please spare a thought for those who didn't.

Oh nuts! I hadn't considered that. It's sooooo unfair...
