Reeds Rains.. anyone have experience with them?

Hi, we are soon going to be putting our house up for sale.

We have been looking for an estate agent for a while now, and to be fair we dont really have that much choice, we have one local agent who seems to have most of the houses near us on his books, and a little further out we have reeds rains.

I have been in touch with both, the first agent told us that they only market the property on their own website and also on propertynews.

Reeds rains told us they would put it up on rightmove, we would prefer to be on rightmove.

Dont really know who to go for at the moment. The local agent is a little cheaper for marketing costs.

Has anyone here used reeds rains? would you recommend them or avoid them?

Thanks.

Personally, I wouldn't use any EA that didn't advertise on Rightmove.
No doubt that's why they're cheaper but in order to save a few quid, you'd be losing out on goodness only knows how many more prospective buyers who, like me, only look on Rightmove because I can't be bothered to go onto loads of individual EAs websites!

So.... with most of the local properties on his books, does your local agent SELL more in your area than Reeds Rains?

If he does, he must be doing something right, even though he's not on Rightmove.

The 'vice versa' to cheeky's view is that by only looking on Rightmove, he/she is missing out on all the properties that this local agent has for sale.... and if he/she were looking seriously at a certain area to buy in (like this one, with only one local agent), I'm sure he/she would look at ALL possible avenues to find the right property - including the local agents' sites. Avoiding sites other than RM on principle seems quite a blinkered approach, where you could be missing out on your ideal home, just because it's not on RM.....
