Also gone up in price, i think we paid £12 each and as last posters said, if you dont intend leaving Sharm then you dont need one0

From what I can remember, it is better to pay in Stirling (english notes work best), and you pay after you have your Visa. We paid on the bus as we where going to the resort. Dont know if this was a thompson thing or not

We went to the Red Sea this March. You pay an entry visa fee on arrival. it has to be in Stirling and is £10 per person regardless of age.
You do not pay to leave the country and you pay it when you land and before passport control. make sure you have water with you as you can wait a while, the queues can be long and the air conditioning is not good.
You will have a lovely time though.

Also, try to make sure that you have the correct amount, i find it really strange when they often say they have no change!!!0

There are 2 visas available at Sharm - the free one which limits you to Sharm & as far as St Katherines in the Sinai but doesn't cover Ras Mohammed which is an exceedingly good area for diving & snorkelling.
The other one is the standard Egyptian visa which allows you to visit Luxor / Cairo and costs £12 sterling0 -
Thanks all !! I didnt know that thing about not needing one if you dont leave sharm? Is this new or has it always been that way? I guess though since I shall be out on a boat then I shall be leaving Sharm?0

I was there at easter, I would be ready with a pen aswell, as there was no pens around to fill in your card, Its also true they dont have change ever! but its also true that if you are not leaving sinai Which we did not then there is no cost but you still need to fill in your card it was like a stampeed when i was there, they where hurrying everyone through then shouted hurry hurry the russians are here??? They arrived and they just push there way through regardless, so you need to have your wits about you, it is an experiance at the airport i have to say but we had a fantastic time once at the resort.
hope this as helped, Hope you have a great time,
Cant wait i go again on the 21st Dec
