Painting Dustbin

Hi wonder if anyone can help.
I have one of the old style dustbins which I would like to use as storage in my garden.
The bin itself seems to be made of plastic and the lid looks more like rubber.
It's black and looks like an eye sore. I have a small garden so can't hide it. So would like to change the colour - is there anyway I can re-paint it? And if I can how do I do it?
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

With any paint that is suitable for use on plastic.
Or you could use a self-adhesive fabric that is sold for the purpose, more often for wheelie-bins-loads of patterns available. No free lunch, and no free laptop
