Rechargable cordless mouse

I have a Logitech rechargable cordless mouse and keyboard, I am using normal rechargable batteries since someone accidentally threw the original pack supplied with the mouse away.. well the charger won't charge the batteries in the mouse if I put them in the recharger cradle and I have to put them in my separate charger and they only last a few days before the dreaded 'low battery' sign flashes up..... am I missing something ?

Not very techie

I had the same issue with a packard bell mouse, couldn't see any difference between the original batteries and the new ones but just didn't last anywhere near as long.
went back to a wired one, finding it much better...

Depends exactly what you mean by normal rechargeable batteries. These may have less capacity or be of a different type i.e. NiCad/NiMh. What does it say on the batteries that you are using?

I did have a look at the Logitech Website and all I could find was the type of battery I should be using , I think I am using the correct ones....

    AA NIMH 1.2V - 1700 mAh

But when I put the mouse in the cradle they don't charge I have to charge them elsewhere....

Coincidentally I am using similar batteries (1700mAh) in a Logitech optical mouse and they last for three weeks of heavy daily use.

Not making a sound connection when docked or a fault with the charger. Check with a meter if you can.
