Hi
if I lose my dla will my motability car be taken away from me? Iam one year in to a three year contract? If they do take it back will I get back a proportion of the down payment that I made?
regards
Clifford

if you lose your DLA and appeal you can keep the car till the tribunal makes it ruling but if that dosnt go in your favour you lose the car and there are a lot of people losing their cars now as the DWP are applying the rules as they should have been doing all along.
You should get a pro rated refund of the AP for any full year left on your contract but you wont get a good condition bonus, thats what motability told me the once I used them but I prefer to buy my vehicles.0 -
I lost my car this week and i'm not even a year into a 3 year contract. They gave me 2 and a half weeks notice and are collecting it on the 15th. You will not get any money back but if the cars in good condition you will get a £250 bonus.
I went from high and middle down to low rate on both.0 -
When we had to return our motability cars ( 1st time for something more suitable and 2nd time cos sons DLA was drastically cut) we got a proportion of our advanced payment back each time.
We are appealing the DLA decision but wasn't sure if we had kept it whether we would have been hit with a big bill if we lose the tribunal (praying that doesn't happen!)0 -
seems that they're really tightening up on things
can't help but think 12 months down the line people who have been awarded the HRM for being blind will be scrapped as well0 -

If I was in this position I would be in a good mindset to reverse the car into a wall and then let them come and collect it0 -

Not Motabilties fault.
Better to park up facing the Palace of Westminster and put your keys down a grid.
If we organised and 10 of us did it every day - well!0 -
I'm thinking of going for DLA. This car thing, is it right I have to get the top rate of the mobilise? If I get that can I get a car as my old one is about knackered now. I need the car to get me about places and see my friends. A new one seems a good thing. Everybody I know seems to have got one, even the landlord of my local has one - got a big 7 seater 4 wheel drive or something, pays no tax on it and parks it for nothing everywhere, that he takes us all out to the pool and darts matches.0
