What is a written COD (insurance claim)

Visiting friends and been asked a question - we haven't got a clue on the answer.

They've had some building damage on a burglary. The insurance company have requested an estimate for repair (no problem) and a "Written COD"

None of us knows what this means - and can't ring the company until Monday.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

I believe it means the cost of damage which is different to the theft claim

Part of the Furniture 500 Posts Name Dropper Combo Breaker
Basically just make sure they write "repairs to window/door damaged by x" with x being break in, attempted break in etc.

They shouldn't be using jargon like that in their letters to you!

Many thanks to you all for your quick replies. :T

I quite agree that it's terrible jargon - no excuse for it really.
