I agree with the OP, but in my case the only ones that have failed are Philips Genie 11w and I've three of them on my desk. Was wondering where I could take them for a refund - they can't be more than a year old, but I don't remember where they came from.
I have various other types around the house and they all seem fine - its just these three that have failed recently, so I'm going to steer well clear if I can.0 -
I have 16 CFLs and have replaced 2 in around 4 years, some are branded others aren't.
Inconsistent pricing gets me. 9 of the bulbs are replacements for R50 SES spots. All purchased when available from Tesco, own brand or GE for £1.50/2.00 but go for a Philips or another brand and you are looking at £6/7.
Am just looking at changing 2 x 2 GU10 spots (that fail annually) as one is starting to fall apart. Tried 60LED, 3.4W bulbs but my wife couldn't stand them.
I have now purchase some spots designed for CFLs came with 11W GU10 CFLs and I will look to switch to 7W as the units cost less than the bulbs....
I do have 2 sets of lights with incandescent bulbs (they are on dimmers) and these fail too, probably, 12/18months."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
