Asus EEE pc series notebook bios password needed

Options
Hope you brainy folk can help. My daughter has the above notebook and it will not start properly, you can get into F2 mode but then it wants a password and we haven't a clue. We are not at all technical and after googling we are even more confused as lots of jargon we've never heard of before! Thanks in anticipation

BIOS password can be removed, but you'll need to open the laptop up and remove the battery inside. Its about the size of a 10p usually, take it out for about 5 mins and then put it back together again.

Take notes of what screw went where, use a very clean and tidy table or desk. Have little pots ready for the screws. Be careful with what you are doing inside! Before you touch any parts inside, touch something metal in you house that's grounded, radiator is normally good. This will help get rid of any static that may be upon your person.

    Good luck.

I came across this photo which shows the battery and the connector - just thought it might help! I think this is of the 900A model, but I imagine the motherboard would be similiar in other models.

Hi again, we've removed the baterry and waited at least 5 mins, reattached everything and it still won't work, not even in safe mode. Help we don't know what to do next!

Unless you know some way of fixing your problem if you could only get into the BIOS, forget about that for now.
Keep hitting F8 prior to Windows beggining to boot and select Disable automatic restart on system failure from the menu which should appear. Let us know what happens then.
